Clara C. Petersen Funeral services for Clara Catherine Petersen, 76 of Walnut, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Peace United Church of Christ here. Burial will be at the Layton Township Cemetery, Walnut, Iowa.

Mrs. Petersen died Thursday, May 17, 1979, at an Atlantic hospital after a short illness. Daughter of Clarence and Gertrude (Mischo Eckley), she was born April 29, 1903, in Manning and lived most of her life in the Walnut and Manning area.

She is survived by a son, Roland of Boone; daughter, Mrs. Shirley Shipp of Ravenna, Nebraska; brother, Lyle Eckley of Omaha; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She married Hugo Petersen in 1923; a WWII Veteran, he passed away in 1963.

The Rev. Bruno Romanowski will officiate services. Family will meet with friends tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Berthusen-Knutson Funeral Home in Walnut.
