Funeral Services for Mrs. Claudine Wiebers Conducted at Manning
Funeral services for Mrs. Claudine Wiebers were held at the Manning Zion Lutheran church Friday, with Pastor John M. Ansorge, in charge. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery and pallbearers were John J. Schroeder, John Steinhauer, Julius Wehrmann, Peter Hargens, John J. Struve, and Charles Schumann.

Mrs. Wiebers was born Claudine Kaspersen, daughter of Claus Kaspersen and Johanna Schultz at Arcadia, Iowa, July 23, 1877. She was married to Claus C. Wiebers March 8, 1898, at Carroll.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Herman C. Meyer (Laura), two granddaughters, WAVE LaVerne B. Meyer, H.A.L/C U.S. Naval Hospital, Dublin, Georgia; LaRene C. Meyer, Carroll, and one brother, Emil Kaspersen, Westside, Iowa.

Her husband preceded her in death, March 29, 1933, and a daughter, Mrs. Frank Mehanna (Hattie), September 14, 1945. Her parents are also deceased.

Mrs. Wiebers was a member of the Manning Zion Church. She had been a Manning resident for the past 24 years. Her death occurred December 3, 1945, at the University Hospital in Iowa City. She had been bedfast for the past seven years.

Those attending the services from a distance were LaVerne Meyer, Dublin, Georgia; LaRene Meyer, Carroll; Mrs. Clarence Nielsen and son, Glidden; Otto Wiebers and family of Schleswig, and many relatives and friends from Arcadia and Westside.
