Elizabeth Reimers Dies Suddenly At Noon Today
Stricken at Farm Home Near Manning; Rites Not Set

Mrs. John Reimers whose home is on a farm near Manning, died suddenly at noon today, February 15, 1939. No funeral arrangements have been made.

Mrs. Reimers is survived by her husband and two sons, Harry Reimers of Centralia, Missouri; and Ed Reimers of Manning.


Elizabeth Fredricka Schumann, Mrs. John Reimers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas and Johanna (Pickenschneider) Schumann, was born on a farm in Hayes Township, Crawford County, Iowa, April 9, 1872. She would have been sixty-seven years of age on her next birthday.

Mrs. Reimers passed away at her home near Manning on February 15, 1939. She had been seriously ill for almost two years.

Mr. and Mrs. Reimers were united in marriage on February 26, 1896. To this union were born two sons, Edward Reimers of Manning and Harry Reimers of Centralia, Missouri.

Mr. Reimers and the two sons survive wife and mother. Mrs. Reimers leaves one grandchild, Julia Ann Reimers, seven years of age.

Three brothers and five sisters also are left to mourn the passing of their sister. The three brothers are John Schumann and Henry Schumann of Westside, Iowa, and Charles Schumann of Manning. The sisters are Catherine (Mrs. Fred) Schrum and Adelia (Mrs. John) Martens of Manning, Caroline (Mrs. Herman) Fonken of Lake City, Iowa, Mrs. William Coburg of Sioux City, Iowa, and Rosa (Mrs. Jake) Johansen of Murdock, Nebraska. Several nieces and nephews are left to mourn.

Mrs. Reimers was baptized in the Lutheran faith. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Alexander Wimberly, Presbyterian pastor, at the Ohde Funeral Home Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. Nick Schrum, Emma (Mrs. Albert) Dietz, Herman Pahde, and Clifford Johnson, with Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn at the organ, furnished special music.
