Mr. Ranniger, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Antje (Hadenfeldt) Ranniger, was born February 26, 1888, in Washington Township, Carroll County. He had been a resident of Manning the past 15 years.
PREVIOUS to that time, he had been a farmer. At the time of his death, January 2, 1948, he was employed at the Herman Behrens oil station, but had not been able to work since Christmas.
He was married January 10, 1913, to Amalie Paesler at Manning. Mrs. Ranniger died June 16, 1944.
He is survived by three children: Velma Ranniger, at home; Elroy Ranniger, Carroll, and Mrs. Norman Petersen (Lila), of Irwin, and three grandchildren, Marjorie and Roger Ranniger, and Nancy Carol Petersen.
Three brothers also survive: Henry of Coon Rapids, John of Springfield, Minnesota, and Ferdinand of Carroll.
ATTENDING the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ranniger and family and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Becker, Coon Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Ranniger and family, Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Durbin, Manning; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Popp, Walnut; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Lingle, Denison; Mr. and Mrs. Merle Ranniger and Robert, St. Paul, Minnesota, Gus Paesler, Jefferson; Mrs. Mabel Fletcher, Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jensen, Oto; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Petersen, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steckelberg and son, Irwin; Elvira Ranniger, Davenport; Mrs. Christina Mumm, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Comstock, Denison, and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Ranniger died at his home at 9:45 p.m. Friday. He had
been in poor health for several months.

Emil Ranniger Dies at Manning
Emil Ranniger, 59, died at his home here at 9:45 last night after being in declining health for several months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor John M. Ansorge officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
The body is at the Ohde Funeral home at present.
Mr. Ranniger's wife died in June, 1945. He leaves two daughters, Velma Ranniger, at home, and Mrs. Norman Petersen (Lila), Irwin, and one son, Elroy Ranniger, Carroll.
He had been employed by the Behrens Oil Company here until Christmas.

Emil Ranniger
Services were held Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church for Emil Ranniger, 59,
who died January 2 at his home here. Pastor John M. Ansorge conducted rites, with burial in the Manning Cemetery.
A native of Carroll County, Mr. Ranniger had farmed many years and lived in Manning the last 15 years. He married Amalie Paesler on January 10, 1913. She died in 1944.
