E. R. Schroeder, 71, Former Muscatine County Man, Dead
Ernest Richard Schroeder, former resident of Muscatine County and for the past seven months a resident of Davenport, Iowa, died suddenly of a heart attack at 3:30 a.m. today, September 6, 1945, at his home, 1212 Marquette Street. He was 71 years old. Burial was in the Blue Grass Cemetery, Blue Grass, Iowa.

Born in Fulton Township, Muscatine County, on February 15, 1874, he was the son of the late John and Louise (Peekenschneider) Schroeder.

Mr. Schroeder received his education in the Muscatine County rural schools and Duncan's Business College in Davenport.

He married Miss Laura Ewoldt January 1, 1902, in Manning, Iowa. After their marriage the couple made their home on the Schroeder homestead, where they farmed until February last, at which time they came to Davenport. He was a member of the German-American Pioneer association of Scott County.

The survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Hugo Brumm of Davenport, R.R. No. 1; Mrs. R.J. Brus of Stockton, R.R. No. 1; and Mrs. Harvey Schnoor of Donahue; R.R. No. 1; two sons, Horace Schroeder of Stockton, R.R. No. 1; and Earl of Blue Grass; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Mangels and Mrs. Adelia Puck of Hartley, Iowa; and Mrs. Otto Koll of Blue Grass; two brothers, John Schroeder of Davenport and Louis Schroeder of Holstein, Iowa; and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Runge chapel, with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery.

THE SCHROEDER FUNERAL
Funeral services for Ernest Richard Schroeder, 1212 Marquette Street, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Runge chapel, with the Rev. B.F. Pickering officiating.
Grace Lohmiller sang. Burial was in the Blue Grass Cemetery.
Bearers were Otto Martz, William Ehrecke, Emil Boldt, Ben Schroeder, Chris Schroeder, and Ray Robinson.
