He was born May 1, 1930, at Sioux Falls, son of Mark and Mary (Kelly) Reilly. He moved with his family to Van Horne, Iowa.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1953.
He married Sallee Atkins on June 19, 1954, at Montezuma, Iowa. They lived in Savanna, Illinois, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, prior to moving to Canton in 1960. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad as a lineman for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He also worked at Triple J Appliance in Commerce City, Colorado, for three years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Kevin and Kent, both of Sioux Falls; four daughters: Karla Reilly and Janette Seney, both of Sioux Falls, Lori Ripley of Canton, and Linda Lipp of Le Mars, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; four brothers: Hugh of Roseburg, Oregon, Terry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ronald of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Joe of Henderson, Colorado; and four sisters: Connie Lotto of Lake Carroll, Illinois, Sharon Wymore of Phoenix, Arizona, and Colleen Steepleton, and Rosemary Johnston, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Canton Lutheran Church with burial at Forest Hill Cemetery near Canton, South Dakota.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Anderson
Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
