THE FAMILY WISHES TO EXPRESS THEIR GRATITUDE FOR YOUR KINDNESS EVIDENCED IN THOUGHT, WORD, AND DEED, AND INVITES YOU TO JOIN THEM FOR LUNCH AND FELLOWSHIP AT THE CHURCH FOLLOWING THE COMMITTAL SERVICE.
DRIVERS IN A FUNERAL PROCESSION MUST TURN ON VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS, BE ALERT, AND DRIVE IN A CLOSE FORMATION.

Fern Marie, daughter of Mathias and Dessa (Kusel) Jensen, was born May 29, 1919, at Gary in Ada County, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm near Audubon, Iowa and attended rural schools, graduating from Audubon High School.

On February 23, 1938, Fern was united in marriage with Orren K. Ramsey in Carroll. Two children were born to this union. They made their home in Manning where Fern worked for more than 33 years for several different stores including Priebe's, Hansen & Pahde, A & G Food, Groteluschen Grocery, Manning Food and Christy's Food.

Fern was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary in Manning and the Women's Relief Corps. She was also a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Manning, participating with the Evening Circle, and has served on numerous church boards including President of the Church Board. Fern liked to cook and bake, the fruits of which were enjoyed by many, especially her grandchildren.

Due to failing health, Fern entered the Manning Plaza on April 30, 2000 and died there Monday, October 9, 2000 at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 10 days.

Fern is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Alvin Jensen and his wife Velna and Ward Jensen; and a brother-in-law Harold Ruhde.

Fern's surviving family includes her husband Orren Ramsey of Manning; two daughters Noreen Kay and her husband Ray Rutherford of Manilla and Rebecca Sue and her husband Gary Macke of Audubon; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters Pearl and her husband Leroy Dammann and June Ruhde, all of Manning; six sisters-in-law: Arlene Jensen, Ruth Jensen, Bernice Laverty, Mary Ramsey and Delores Ramsey, all of Manning, and Mildred Ramsey of Carroll; one brother-in-law Jack Ramsey and his wife Edna of Manning; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I'm occasionally adding the actual scanned image of the obituary I make using my VERY expensive - large commercial scanner, and/or also other articles about the deceased person that were published in the Manning Monitor.
I want to also comment about people who are taking my obituaries, pictures, and/or other articles about a person/family and posting them on other websites.
You do NOT have permission or the right to do this - you are stealing my historical work.
Buy your own scanning equipment, pay for memberships to other commercial websites, and spend decades working on your local history like I have - then you'll understand why I'm making these comments!

Thank you for your attention to this matter - Dave Kusel
