57th Anniversary for Manning Pair
Mr. and Mrs. August Claussen will observe their 57th wedding anniversary here October 11.
Their children are Arthur Claussen of Holdredge, Nebraska, Mrs. Frances Spurling of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mrs. Florence Diehl and Miss Iris Claussen of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Tony Stapleton of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Spurling has been visiting with her parents for several Weeks.

Mrs. Claussen, Manning, Joins Oldster Club
A new member of the Three-Quarter Century Club is Mrs. Cathrina M. Claussen of South Manning.
Mrs. Claussen was born Cathrina Schlueter, daughter of Hans and Margaretha Schlueter, in Linden, Holstein, Germany, December 31, 1864. She emigrated to the United States in 1884 to Harlan in Shelby County. In 1902, she moved to Manning. She was married to August H. Claussen October 11, 1889, in Fremont, Nebraska.
Mr. and Mrs. Claussen celebrated their golden wedding October 11, 1939. The Claussens lived on a farm for twenty-eight years and the rest of the time in the city.
Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Claussen, the oldest, Lily, passed away in 1927.
The others are Mrs. Tony Stapleton, Washington, D.C.; Arthur, Holdrege, Nebraska; Mrs. Frances Spurling, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Florence Diels, Los Angeles, California; Miss Iris Claussen, Miles City, Montana.
Five of the eight children born to Mrs. Claussen's parents are living. They are Cathrina M. Claussen, Manning; Otto Schlueter, Fremont, Nebraska; Mrs. Anna Hille, Fremont, Nebraska; Mrs. Emma Doane, Santa Rosa, California; Mrs. Claredina Morgan, Winnebago.
Mrs. Claussen attends the Presbyterian Church.
