Last Rites Held For Fred Urban
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the farm home west of Wadena for Frederick Ernst Urban, 53, years old, who died there on Tuesday, June 2, 1936. Rev. J.E. Jansen, pastor of the Wadena Congregational Church, officiated. Burial was in the Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, Minnesota.

An invalid and confined to his bed for the past 11 months, due to paralysis, Mr. Urban maintained a cheerful disposition and helped lighten the burden of those who cared for him. He was active in community life until his health failed.

He was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany on April 28, 1883, son of Adolph and Catherine (Kollmetz) Diebolder. He came to America alone at the age of 15, locating in Kingsley, Iowa, joining a brother who was here. His mother came three years later.

A few years later he married Amanda Kollmetz of Manning, Iowa, and in 1918 they, with their family of three children, moved to Compton Township, near Wadena. His wife and three daughters, Rose, Elsie, and Clara survive him, together with a granddaughter, Sylvia Louisa. An infant daughter died in 1919.
