Gus Rudnick Obituary
Gustav August Rudnick, son of Otto and Dorthea Maria Reickmann Rudnick was born June 2, 1898, in Audubon County. He attended Parochial School at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township-Audubon County.
He was a retired machinist.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona. The Ohde Funeral Home of Manning is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are four children: Reinhardt Rudnick and his wife Edna, Phoenix, Arizona; Norman Rudnick and his wife Joann, Oakland, California; Mrs. Lanny (Marilyn) Collier, North Bend, Washington; and Gordon Rudnick and his wife Evelyn, Tonto Basin, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, August Rudnick, Lake View, and Oscar Rudnick, Milford; four sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth Rutz, Wisconsin; Mrs. Lloyd (Minnie) Boers, Carroll; Mrs. Bertha French, Spencer; and Dorothy Rudnick, Milford.
He was preceded in death by his wife on April 12, 1979, in Phoenix, his parents and five brothers.
Mr. Rudnick was born June 2, 1898, in Audubon County, Iowa, a son of Otto and Marie (Reickmann) Rudnick. He was married July 25, 1920, at Reinbeck, Iowa, to Hedwig (Heda) Lauer. They farmed in Audubon County for many years. During the 1960s they lived for a time in Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked as a machinist for Ohllinger Tool & Die Company.
After retiring to Manning in the early 1970s, the family continued to spend winters in Phoenix.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
