Because of the dedication of Sacred Heart Church in Manning Wednesday morning, funeral services will be held in St. John's Church, Arcadia, at 9 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Cletus A. Ahmann, pastor of St. John's, officiating. Burial will be at Saint John's Catholic Cemetery, Arcadia.
Mr. Niehaus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Catharine (Thieman) Niehaus, was born at Arcadia October 28, 1894. He lived at Arcadia until he was married in 1916 to Adeline Stangl at Omaha. The couple lived on farms near Templeton and Arcadia until they moved to Manning.
Mr. Niehaus is survived by his wife, and children: John, Templeton; Earl, Templeton; Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Auen, Alameda, California; Mrs. Jerome (Bonnie) Bluml, Carroll; Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Roderick, Oakland, California; and Michael, Carroll.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; one brother, Earl Leo Niehaus, of San Francisco; and two sisters: Mrs. Clem (Mayme) Stangl, Coon Rapids; and Mrs. Art (Loretta) Diers, Arcadia.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Elaine) Hansen, Atlantic, and two brothers, Frank and William Niehaus.
The rosary will be prayed in the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, at 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday nights.
