HENRY PAULSEN, SR.
Henry Paulsen, Sr., 77, died early Thursday morning, April 10, 1958, at his farm home nine miles south of Manning. He became ill Wednesday night.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ohde Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Andrew Hofer of the Audubon Presbyterian Church officiating. Ray Pratt, vocal soloist, will be accompanied by Bonita (Mrs. Henry W.) Hagedorn, organist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Paulsen was born October 29, 1880, at Round Grove, Scott County, Iowa, a son of Peter and Catharina "Kate" (Sievers) Paulsen. When he was live years old, the family moved to O'Brien County and in 1895 to Half Way, Missouri. He had also lived at Maryville and Stickering, Missouri.

In 1900, the family came to Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa.

Mr. Paulsen was married to Evalina Hass at Botna in 1907. With the exception of one and one-half years in Manning, Mr. and Mrs. Paulsen farmed in Lincoln Township, having lived on the farm nine miles south of Manning for the last seven years.

Mr. Paulsen is survived by his wife; four sons, Marvin, Dedham; Herman, Audubon; Henry, Jr., Irwin; and Alvin, St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lily) Goddard, St. Louis; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four sisters, Emma (Mrs. Otto) Borkowski, Katie (Mrs. William) Musfeldt, and Alvena (Mrs. Frank) Stribe, Manning; and Amanda (Mrs. William) Welding, Portland, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons in infancy, two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Paulsen died suddenly at his home south of Manning Thursday. He became ill Wednesday evening.

He was born in Scott County, Iowa, and came to this vicinity in 1900 and had farmed here since that time.

Survivors are: Widow, Evalena; four sons, Marvin, Dedham: Herman, Audubon, Henry, Jr. Irwin; Alvin, St. Louis, Missouri; daughter Mrs. Robert Goddard, St. Louis; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Otto Borkowski, Mrs. William Musfeldt, Mrs. Frank Stribe, all of Manning: Mrs. William Welding, Portland, Oregon.
