Henry Schumann
Funeral rites for Henry Peter Schumann, 90, Manning, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 1970, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, with Rev. Andrew Stewart Morris officiating. Burial was in Hayes Township Cemetery.

Mr. Schumann died at Manning Hospital Wednesday night, December 2, 1970.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas and Johanna (Pickenschneider) Schumann, he was born on November 5, 1880, in Hayes Township, and lived on the same farm near Five Mile House most of his life. He moved to Manning 17 years ago, and had been a resident of the Manning Plaza for a year and a half.

He was the oldest member of Hayes Township Schuetzen Verein.

Unmarried, he was preceded in death by his brothers: John, Fred, Charles, and August Schumann, and sisters: Mrs. Catherine Schrum, Mrs. Adelia Martens, Mrs. Lena Fonken, Mrs. Amelia Kobert, Mrs. Rose Johannsen, Mrs. Elizabeth Reimers, and Mrs. Clara Sonksen.
