HENRY C. VAN DYKE
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home here for Henry Cemer Van Dyke, 86, who died April 20 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T.B. Allen, Oceanside, California. Dr. Fred Hamlin of the Presbyterian Church will officiate. Organ music will be provided by Bonita (Mrs. Henry W.) Hagedorn.

Burial will be beside his wife in the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Van Dyke, former Manning resident, was born October 4, 1867, at Postville, Iowa, a son of George and Mather Van Dyke.

At the age of 18 years he went to South Dakota to work for the Chicago & North Western Railway. Twelve years later, he came to Iowa and worked for the Milwaukee Railroad at Van Horne, Coon Rapids, Manning, and Persia.

He retired at the age of 70 after 52 years' railroad service, 40 of which were with the Milwaukee system in Iowa.

For the last seven years, Mr. Van Dyke had lived with his daughter, Mrs. Phoebe Allen, at Oceanside. He had been in failing health since January.

Mr. Van Dyke was married to Nellie Billings April 10, 1895, at Brookings, South Dakota. His wife died in 1945. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Elmer, George, and Arthur, and one sister, Rose.

Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Allen, and granddaughter, Mrs. Phoebe Oxley, of Oceanside; a nephew, Malcolm Van Dyke, Minneapolis, and niece, Mrs. Fay Tucker, Watertown, South Dakota.

Henry Van Dyke, former Manning resident, died April 23 in Oceanside, California, according to word received here.
For many years Van Dyke was employed by Milwaukee Railroad here.
The body is to arrive here Monday. Ohde Funeral Home will be in charge.
Survivors include a daughter. Mrs. Robert Allen, and one granddaughter.
