HERMAN C. MEYER
Herman Christian Meyer, 79, of Long Beach, California, formerly of Manning, died Saturday, December 14, 1974, at the Alameda Belmont Convalescent Home in Long Beach. He had been in failing health since August.

Rites will be held at the Ohde Funeral Home here at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor Edward Heinicke, of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate and grandsons will be pallbearers. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Annina (Wiebers) Meyer, he was born at Coleridge, Nebraska, April 17, 1895. He was married to Laura Wiebers January 15, 1919, and they lived on a farm near Manning until her death in 1936. Mr. Meyer then moved to California and in April 1967, was married to Debbie Densley, and they have lived in Long Beach.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Walter (LaVerne) Wittrock of Halbur and Mrs. Paul (LaRene) Potter of Columbus, Indiana; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Kuhnhenn of Jefferson and Mrs. Rudolph Herfkins of Grants Pass, Oregon, and three brothers, Bill of Wichita, Kansas, Paul of Redmond, Oregon, and Ernest of Monrovia, California.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers in addition to his first wife.
