Herman Paesler
The funeral of Herman Paesler was held Wednesday afternoon, June 8, from the Paesler home, five miles south of Westside. Rev. E. L. Marousek, pastor of the Westside Presbyterian Church conducted the services. Interment was made in the Bruggeman Cemetery near Arcadia.

Herman Paesler was born July 22, 1861, in Grunfier, Germany. He died June 5, 1921, at the age of 59 years, 10 months, and 13 days.

Mr. Paesler came to American in 1881. After spending two years in Chicago, he came to Iowa where he has since resided. He was married March 28, 1889 to Miss Margaret Mordhorst. To this union six children were born one dying in infancy in 1896.

Those surviving him are Amalie (Mrs. Emil) Ranniger, Henrietta (Mrs. John) Ranniger, Edward J., Gustav F., and Julius J. He is also survived by his wife, four grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. One brother was present at the funeral; the others live in Germany.

Since coming to Iowa Mr. Paesler followed the occupation of farming. The beginning of the end came last October when he suffered a nervous breakdown. His health failed him from that time and Sunday, June 5, he was called from this life.

He made many friends during his life. and they join with the grief-stricken family in mourning his loss.
