John J. Will, Age 47, of Aspinwall
Died in Manning hospital July 20
Aspinwall, Iowa, July 28, 1936. It is with sadness in our hearts that we this week chronicle the death of John J. Will. The deceased was the son of John and Anna (Wieck) Will and was born near Harlan, Iowa, April 4, 1889, and departed this life at the Wyatt Memorial hospital in Manning on Monday, July 20, 1936, at the age of 47 years, 3 months and 6 days.
In early youth he moved with his parents to Aspinwall and since that time he has been a continuous resident of this community with the exception of four years that he spent homesteading in Montana. He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers who died in early infancy. His aged mother, Mrs. Anna Will, and one sister, Mrs. Walter Bornhoft of West Side are left to mourn the death of a devoted son and brother.
Mr. Will was a carpenter by trade, having learned and worked with his father many years. After his father's death he continued in it. His life was one of service to his mother, being ever kind and considerate, having made his home with her up until the time when he had to be taken to the hospital. "Hannes", as he was better known to his many friends, was a man of even disposition, never incurring the enmity of his neighbors. In his business dealings one was always sure of getting a square deal and of course that made him much in demand in the line of trade he followed, and it was while at his usual work that he became ill. He remained at home several days, but his condition became steadily worse go he was removed to the hospital. The best of loving and medical care were administered but all to no avail and he passed away after a week of intense suffering.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with Rev. Zimmerman of Vail in charge. Pall bearers were, John Schilling, W. J. Schroeder, August Schultz, Hans Clausen, Louie Ehrichs and Henry Jansen. Interment was made in the Iowa township cemetery.
