JULIUS VINKE
Julius, son of Gustav and Mary (Karstens) Vinke, was born March 18, 1902, near Manning. He worked for the Dultmeier Manufacturing Co. and Manning Creamery Co. and later 'operated a tavern in Manning for about 14 until retiring in 1971.

Julius was united in marriage with Mabel Ehrichs, on September 24, 1975. Julius died at the Manning General Hospital, Manning, on November 28, 1976, at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 10 days.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel, two step-daughters, Mrs. Milton Sinow, Aspinwall and Mrs. Howard Christensen, Cedar Rapids; also by six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Julius is also survived by two sisters Mrs. Lena Schwiesow and Mrs. Amelia Weinbrandt both of Manning and by two brothers, Henry Vinke, Manning and LeRoy Vinke, Carroll, as well as other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 30, at 11 a.m. in the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning with Rev. Joel Wright, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Soloist was Larry Genzen and organist was Bonita Hagedorn.

Interment was in the Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wallace Schroeder, Victor Schwiesow, John Ehrichs, Wilmer Ehrichs, Wayne Schroeder, and Averill Vinke.
