MRS. KATIE ROWEDDER
Services for Mrs. Katie Rowedder, 90, of Aspinwall, will be held here at 11 am. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, of which she was a member.

Pastor Edward F. Heinicke will officiate. Interment will be in the Manning Cemetery, with nephews as pallbearers. The Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rowedder died Wednesday morning, June 20, 1973, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home, where she had resided for about a week. She had been an invalid for three years.

She was born June 23, 1882, in Germany, a daughter of Wilken and Magdelina (Moeller) Karsten, and came to the United States with them when she was six months old. The family settled north of Manning and she attended rural school near her home. On February 24, 1903, she married Herman Rowedder and they farmed near Manning until retiring and moving to Aspinwall 31 years ago. Since her husband's death December 12, 1957, she had made her home in Aspinwall with a daughter, Emma Rowedder.

Surviving in addition to her daughter Emma are another daughter, Mrs. Louis (Elsie) Anthony of Westside and two sons, Hubert of Manning and Ivan of Denison; also ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rowedder was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, six brothers and three sisters besides her husband.
