IN MEMORY OF LEONARD WILLIAMS
Leonard A. Williams, son of Grant Williams and Marguerite (Lytel) Williams, was born November 18, 1907, in Manning Iowa, and was baptized as an infant in the Roman Catholic Church.

He received his primary and secondary school education in the public schools of Manning, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1927, and attended the university of Iowa and Iowa State at Ames.

He was married to Genevieve Elizabeth Miller in Manning, Iowa, on May 19, 1933. He joined Zion Lutheran Church in 1935.

The Williams family remained in Manning until 1946 when they moved to Minneapolis. Their son, James, was born May 11, 1937. It was in 1951 that they came to the Menlo Park area and have lived here and in Los Altos since then.

They joined the young Bethany Church shortly after coming here. Leonard loved his church and was particularly active in maintenance and beautification, spending many of his weekends here.

A painter by trade, he did all of the finishing work on the chancel furnishings of Bethany. It was said of him that "he had a paint brush in his hand until an hour before the dedication." Artistic painting was his hobby and he was a member of the Los Altos Art Club.
