She was born August 9, 1894, at Des Moines, Iowa, to Paul and Lillian (Anthony) Moerke. At the age of five, she moved with her family to Manning, Iowa. She received her registered nurse's degree at Methodist Hospital, Omaha.
She came to Flandreau in 1932 where she was the supervisor of the old Flandreau hospital and Flandreau Municipal Hospital until 1948. She then worked in hospitals in South Sioux City, Nebraska, Mason City, Iowa, and Clarion, Iowa, until she returned to Flandreau where she did special duty nursing until she retired in 1964.
Survivors include one nephew, Ralph Stuedeman, Flandreau, who was also born in Manning, son of Dick and Hazel (Moerke) Stuedeman.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial at the Union Cemetery in Flandreau.
