Funeral services for Margaretha Louise Schroeder, 88, formerly of Aspinwall, were held on Tuesday, February 10, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla, with Rev. Ronald E. Meyer officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery; grandsons acted as pallbearers. The body was at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla until time of rites.

Daughter of William and Wilhelmina (Garber) Schultz, she was born November 22, 1881, in Danzig, Germany. At the age of 11 she came to the U.S. and settled near Arcadia where she attended schools. On February 22, 1905 she married Charles "Carl" Schroeder at Manning.

They farmed in Iowa Township until 1920, when they moved to Aspinwall. The couple observed their golden wedding in 1955; he died on March 13, 1959.

She continued to live in Aspinwall until 5 1/2 years ago, when she moved to Eventide home in Denison. She died there on Saturday, February 7, 1970.

She was preceded by her husband; parents; a brother, August; and two sisters, as children.

She is survived by three children: Mrs. Arthur (Minnie) Fuss, Marcelline, Missouri; Henry of Manning; and Mrs. Roy (Gertrude) Mork of Irwin; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Margaretha Louise Schroeder, 88, of Aspinwall, were held Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla, with burial in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Schroeder, born in Germany, came in the U.S. at the age of 11. She moved from Aspinwall to the Eventide Home in Denison five years ago, and died there Sunday, February 8, 1970.

She is survived by three children: Mr. Arthur Marcelline, Missouri; Henry Schroeder, Manning, and Mrs. Roy Mork of Irwin; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
