MRS. MARIA MEIERS
>Mrs. Maria M. Meiers, 91, of Arcadia, died Wednesday night, July 5, 1967, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home, Manning, after a long illness. She had resided there since March 3, 1967.

Rites will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, Arcadia, of which she was a member. Pastor Edward F. Heinicke of Manning will officiate and burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. The casket will be taken to the church Saturday at 9 a.m. for viewing until the hour of services.

Mrs. Meiers, daughter of Peter and Anna (Nagel) Hargens, was born August 22, 1876, at Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

She attended school in the Manilla vicinity. She was married to William Meiers, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are nine children: Elsie, Peter, and Louis Meiers, Arcadia; Mrs. Helen O'Leary, St. Paul, Minnesota; William, Valley City, North Dakota; Mrs. Emma Hagge, Omaha; John, Manning; Mrs. Vernon Schafer, Council Bluffs; and Earl, Carroll; also 30 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Glenn Jarvis, La Mesa, California; and Mrs. Anna Benninghause, Sidney, Nebraska; and a brother, Herman Hargens, Manning.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Vernon Farrell, in 1965.
