Mrs. Maria Nielsen died July 14 at Carroll Hospital
Funeral services for Mrs. Maria Nielsen were held this Wednesday, at 2 o'clock at the Ohde Funeral Home, with the Rev George B. Eschenbacher of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery. Linus Heithoff, Eustace Lake, Leo Kerwin, Melvin Wolf, Joe Horbach, and John J. Struve acted as pallbearers.

Mrs. Nielsen passed away July 14, 1958, at St Anthony hospital where she had been a patient about a month. She reached the age of 72 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Daughter of Claus and Katherine Strosahl, she was born on July 29, 1885, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She came to the United States in 1904 and settled at Davenport. In 1906, she married Claus Nielsen, and had lived in Manning since that time.

Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen were the parents of two children: Claus Jr. of Manning; and Mrs. Fred (Marie) Nulle, who passed away a number of years ago.

Besides her son, she leaves a brother, Claus Strosahl, Manning; a sister, Mrs. Emma Voigt, Wesselburen, Holstein, Germany; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, her parents, eight brothers and sisters.

I'm occasionally adding the actual scanned image of the obituary I make using my VERY expensive - large commercial scanner, and/or also other articles about the deceased person that were published in the Manning Monitor.
I want to also comment about people who are taking my obituaries, pictures, and/or other articles about a person/family and posting them on other websites.
You do NOT have permission or the right to do this - you are stealing my historical work.
Buy your own scanning equipment, pay for memberships to other commercial websites, and spend decades working on your local history like I have - then you'll understand why I'm making these comments!

Thank you for your attention to this matter - Dave Kusel
