MRS. MARIA PLAHN
Funeral services for Mrs. Maria Magdalena Plahn, 85, Manning, will be conducted by Pastor George B. Eschenbacher at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, at Zion Lutheran Church here. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Plahn died Friday evening, November 10, 1961, at the Pfoltner Nursing Home where she had been taken Monday from Manning General Hospital. She had been ill for some time.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Olga) Schultz, Manning; Mrs. Gilbert (Mamie) Sievertsen, Manilla; and Mrs. LeRoy Schumann, Westside; one grandson and one great-grandson.

Mrs. Plahn was born June 14, 1876, in Germany, coming to the United States and settling at Denison at the age of 18. Her marriage to August Plahn took place June 12, 1901. They lived on various farms in the Manning vicinity until 1943, when they moved into Manning. Mr. Plahn died in 1951. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Maria Magdalena Plahn, 85, were held on Tuesday afternoon, November 14, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning at 2 with Pastor George B. Eschenbacher officiating.
Born on June 14, 1876, in Germany, she came to the United States at the age of 18, to Denison. She married August Plahn on June 12, 1901. They lived on various farms in the community until 1943, when they moved into Manning. Mr. Plahn died in 1951.
Mrs. Plahn died on Friday evening, November 10, at the Pfoltner Nursing Home in Manning, where she had been a patient but a few days, having been transferred there from the Manning Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Marvin (Olga) Schultz, Manning; Mrs. Gilbert (Mamie) Sievertsen, Manilla; Mrs. LeRoy (Edna) Schumann, Westside; a grandson and a great-grandson.

Saturday, Mrs. Maria Plahn of Manning broke her hip in a fall at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Max Schultz. She is a patient at the Manning General Hospital.
