Marlowe Skarp
Marlowe Anne Marie (Moeller) Skarp was born January 7, 1908, in Manning, Iowa, to Henry and Emma (Hagedorn) Moeller. She was baptized June 27, 1908, and confirmed in May of 1933 at the First Lutheran Church of Comfrey, Minnesota. She grew up in Springfield, Minnesota, and attended school in Springfield and Brown County, North Star Township.

Marlowe was united in marriage to Oscar Skarp on July 28, 1932, at Springfield, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with five sons: Tom, Allen, David, Jim, and Dan. Marlowe and Oscar ran "Skarp's Grocery" in Boyd, Minnesota, for 20 years. After selling the grocery store, she ran a Ceramic Shop in Boyd. Marlowe loved to play cards, especially "Buch Euchre." She was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Boyd.

Marlowe became a resident of St. John's Lutheran Home of Springfield in November of 1995. She passed away at the Home on Monday morning, November 24, 2003, at the age of 95 years, 10 months, and 17 days. She was buried in Trinity Cemetery, Boyd, Minnesota.

She is survived by her sons: Tom, Allen (and Lois), David (and Evie), Jim, and Dan (and Linda). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and sisters Viola and Cordelia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Oscar; sister Loretta; brother Elvin; sister-in-law Esther; and daughter-in-law Edie Skarp.
