Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Ohde Funeral home here with the Rev. W.P. Gauer, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Mrs. Vinke was born December 23, 1873, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilken and Magdalena (Moeller) Karsten, and came to the United States with her parents, at the age of nine. They settled in Carroll County.
She was married to Gustav Vinke February 15, 1896. He passed away in 1932. Since that time, she had moved to Manning and later to the Carroll home.
Surviving are five children Mrs. Walter (Lena) Schwiesow, Henry and Julius, Manning; Mrs. Max (Amelia) Weinbrandt, Westside, and LeRoy, Carroll; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Karsten; two sisters, Mrs. Herman (Katie) Rowedder, Aspinwall, and Mrs. Walter (Emma) Laurinat, Manning.
Five brothers, a sister and her parents preceded her in
death, the sister, Mrs. Maggie Opperman, only a few weeks ago.

Mrs. Mary Vinke
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Vinke, 79, were Thursday at Ohde Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vinke, who was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, died Tuesday at a
Carroll nursing home. She had been ill for two years.
Mrs. Vinke came to Carroll County when she was nine years old. She lived on a
farm near Manning until 1932 when she moved to Manning.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Walter Schwiesow of Manning, and Mrs. Max
Weinbrandt of Westside; three sons: Henry and Julius of Manning, and LeRoy of
Carroll; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Karsten of
Manning; and two sisters, Mrs. Herman Rowedder of Aspinwall, and Mrs. Walter Laurinat of Manning.
