All friends and relatives are invited to the VFW Hall for lunch and fellowship following the committal services.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home here, where friends may call starting at 7 p.m. Monday. The Rev. C.W. Schmidt, pastor of the Lutheran Church at Denison, will officiate.
Mrs. Meggers was born in Hayes township, Crawford County, February 12, 1884, a daughter of Paul and Catherine (Lempster) Jahn. On May 18, 1904, she married Gustav F. Meggers and they lived on a farm northwest of Aspinwall for 38 years. They moved to Botna October 1, 1942, and to Manning two years later.
Following her husband's death in 1945, Mrs. Meggers continued to live in Manning, and for the past 5 1/2 years had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Erps.
Surviving in addition to her daughter are a son, Lester, of Manilla; three grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herman, Hugo and Louie Jahn; and three sisters, Mrs. Lena Kuhl, Mrs. Amanda Pepper and Mrs. Addle Mordhorst.
Mrs. Meggers was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a
son, Johnnie; a granddaughter, three great-grandchildren; and three brothers,
Willie and Henry Jahn and another in infancy.
