She was united in marriage to Charles Vandeman December 5, 1894 and to this union two children were born.
Mrs. Vandeman was an active member of the United Brethren Church.
She is survived by two children, Mrs. Elsie Moore of Botna and Murrell Vandeman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Crouch, Mrs. Walter Beggs and Mrs. William Nelson of Turtle Lake, North Dakota; one brother, Lee Holmes of Soldier, Iowa; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Botna Baptist Church at Botna July 26, 1957, with Rev. Wayne Vieman officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Irwin.
Pallbearers were; Charles Ramsey, Robert Campbell, Homer Weems, Ernest Ehlers, George Justice and Fred Nulle.

Funeral services will be held at Botna on Friday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Nellie May
Vandeman, 81, who died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Moore, in Botna.
Rev. Wayne Vieman, pastor of the Botna Baptist Church, will read the last
rites. Burial will be in the Irwin Cemetery. The body is at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.
Mrs. Vandeman was a life-long resident of the Botna community.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. Moore and Murrell D. Vandeman, of Council
Bluffs; three sisters. Mrs. Harry Crouch, Mrs. William Nelson and Mrs. Walter Beggs,
all of Turtle Lake, North Dakota; a brother, Lee Holmes, of Soldier; 4
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church. She was married to Charles
Vandeman on December 5, 1894.
