Pete C. Pedersen age 98 of Broken Bow, Nebraska, died September 20, 2010, at Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 23, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Rev. Lawrence Frances officiating and Fred Cram eulogy. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Interment will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Pete Christian Pedersen was born June 27, 1912, at Manning, Iowa, to Fred and Anna (Jensen) Pedersen. When he was nine months old he moved with his family to Mellett County South Dakota. He attended District No. 44 Prospect Valley School until the eighth grade. He later attended Redfield Academy Ag College for one year, milking cows to pay his tuition. He was united in marriage to Iola Van Horn on October 6, 1947 at Kearney, Nebraska. They made their home in Broken Bow and farmed in various communities.
Survivors include his wife Iola Pedersen of Broken Bow, two sons Dennis (Sandra) Pedersen of Toccoa, Georgia, Steve and (Kim) Pedersen of Broken Bow, Nebraska, one daughter Bonnie Lewandowski of Broken Bow. Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Connie Rae, and three sisters, and one brother.
