PETER MURRAY DIES

Peter Murray was born on the 7th day of February 1863 in Iowa City, Iowa. On the 14th day of March 1885 he came to Audubon County and for three years resided in Audubon, during which time he learned the barber trade. After three years of apprenticeship the deceased came to Manning with the intentions of establishing a business of his own. In the year of 1904 he was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Ohrt who survives. Two children were born to this union, Ralph Victor, and Irene Florence.

Those that mourn the untimely death are the following: The widow, Mrs. Minnie Murray, the two children before mentioned, and three brothers, J. Murray, of Audubon Hugh, Murray, of Spencer, Nebraska, and Cornelius Murray, of Columbus, Ohio.

Four weeks ago the deceased took sick with a severe liver trouble which caused his death on Sunday July 7th at 7 o'clock in the morning. His age was 49 years.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday mortaring at 9 o'clock at the home, interment being made in the Manning Cemetery. Rev. A.W. Fruechte, of the local German Evangelical Lutheran Church officiated. The larger part of the services were conducted in the English language.

The bereaved wife and family have the heartfelt sympathy of the friends in their hour of sorrow.


Peter Murray is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
