PETER INGWER PETERSEN
Peter Ingwer Petersen, son of Paul Petersen and his wife Catherine, nee Paulsen was born in Fresholm, Holstein, Germany on August 21, 1871. Soon after birth he was baptized into the name of the Triune God. At the customary age he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church.

In 1889, he came to the United States and made his home in Manning, Iowa. A few years after his arrival in this country he became a citizen of the country which he had learned to love so well.

On July 4, 1894, he was united in marriage with Margaret Rostermundt. To this union five children were born.

He lived in Manning, Iowa, for ten years, in Fairmont, North Dakota, for six years, in Lyons, Nebraska, for eight years. Twenty-three years ago he with his family came to Timber Creek Township in Nance County where he resided until his death. During these twenty-three years he was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church.

In November of 1941, he was overtaken by an illness from which he never fully recovered. Two weeks ago he became seriously ill. Monday morning, November 30, he suffered a paralytic stroke. Thursday morning, December 3, 1942, he departed from this life. He reached the age of 71 years, 3 months, and 12 days.

He is survived by his widow, five children, Mrs. Mark Larson of Lyons, Mrs. Emma Bennett of Belgrade, Paul of Burns, Oregon, and Frieda and Edward of the home, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love His appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7 and 8.
