Peter B Stouffer
Peter B. Stouffer, a former resident of Lanark, died in Iowa, August 13, 1907. His remains were brought to Lanark for burial in the Lanark City Cemetery.

Son of John and Hannah (Price) Stouffer, he was born March 10, 1830, in Pennsylvania.

He married Mary Miller September 9, 1850, in Washington, Maryland. They are the parents of Ida F., John W., Emma Katherine, and Franklin Stouffer.

He lived with his wife in Manning and operated a general store starting in the mid-1880s.

Peter Stouffer who died last week in Iowa was brought here last Friday and his body was buried in the Lanark Cemetery. He will be remembered by the older citizens of this community as being in partnership with A.S. Puterbaugh in the drug store where the corner drug store now stands. He had been sick a long-time and had been a great sufferer.

PETER B. STOUFFER, dealer in drugs, books and stationery, Manning, Iowa, located in Manning in March 1884, buying the stock of Dr. A.H. Hull. He carries a complete stock of goods in his line and has succeeded in building up a good trade. He was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, in 1830, and was married to Miss Mary A. Miller, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, in 1850. He moved to Carroll County, Illinois, in 1854, and since that time has been connected with the drug business in Illinois and Iowa.
