Mr. Schacht passed away at his home in Aspinwall about noon, on Monday, June 8, 1942, following several years illness, and recently intense suffering.
Son of Mevis and Sophia (Hoffeins) Schacht, he was born November 9, 1885, at Aspinwall, where he spent the greater share of his life. He attended grade school in Aspinwall, graduated from Manning High in 1904 and attended the University of Iowa.
He was married January 17, 1912, to Miss Anna Kai.
His widow survives with the following: four daughters, Irene, Mrs. Ival Armentrout; Alva, Mrs. Emil Fuss; Virgene and Donna at home; three grandchildren and one brother, Henry Schacht of Long Beach, California, who arrived Sunday night. A sister, Elfrieda (Mrs. Adam) Wiese, and also his parents, preceded him in death.
Mr. Schacht was a carpenter by trade.
