Mrs. Roush, born September 11, 1853, has been a resident of Iowa for 66 years coming with relatives from Ohio after the death of her father, Joel Heathman (February 17, 1817 - October 13, 1887). Her relatives first located at Lewis, Iowa, where Mrs. Roush received her education. In 1870, she was united in marriage to Valentine Roush, who survives his wife.
In 1880, the Roush family moved to Manning, Iowa, and in 1888 to Holstein, Iowa, where they resided for a number of years, forming many close friendships during the years of their residency here. In 1909, the family moved to Onawa, Iowa, and in 1919 to Sioux City, Iowa, where they lived in retirement from business.
Everywhere Mr. Roush has lived he owned and operated a flour mill, and he was also interested in several banks, being at present a director of the Holstein Savings Bank.
The deceased is survived by her husband, one daughter, Blanche (Mrs. Ben) Dansby of Sioux City, two sons, Jarius Clayton Roush, of Onawa, and D. Harlow Roush, of Arcadia, California; three sisters, and three grandchildren.
The remains were laid to rest in the family mausoleum at Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa. Rev. J.J. Bushnell, of Algona, Iowa, preaching the funeral sermon.
Sincerest sympathy is extended by Holstein friends to the
sorrowing mourners in their sad bereavement.
