MRS. A.W. THOMPSON DIES
AT HOME OF DAUGHTER
Mrs. Sarah J. Thompson, wife of Rev. Alexander W. Thompson, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lily Hawkins, in Upland Saturday morning, February 26, 1916. Mrs. Thompson had gone to Upland to spend the holidays with her daughter and was taken ill and unable to return to her home here.

Daughter of Luther and Indiana (Chapman) Bradley, she was born July 19, 1846, in Tipton, Iowa.

The deceased came to Hemet from Iowa with her husband 28 years ago and at that time bought the home on Park Hill where they have always lived. During her residence here she had made a host of friends in Hemet, San Jacinto, and the entire Valley. During their residence in California Rev. Thompson, who is a Congregational minister, has held pastorates at Etiwanda and Highland, and many friends in these two places mourn the loss of his beloved wife.

Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian Church at Upland, Rev. R.B. Larkin of Ontario being in charge. The many floral tributes represented the honor in which her Christian life had placed her among her friends. The remains were taken to Pasadena for cremation, with burial in San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, San Jacinto, California.

San Jacinto friends of the deceased present were Mrs. H.K. Smith and Oakley Smith, Mrs. McNeil, Mrs. Van Fleet, and Mr. and Mrs. Austin Buckley.

Her son, William Miller, and wife and daughter of Los Angeles were in attendance at the funeral. The deceased is survived, besides the son, by her husband, and a daughter, Mrs. Hawkinson.
