Death of Solon M. Towne Solon M. Towne died this morning, February 23, 1912, at 9 o'clock at the home of his daughter and husband, Emma and Frank Pike at 1525 Eighth Avenue, Marion, Iowa.

Mr. Towne was eighty-two years old son of Rial and Clarissa (Thompson) Towne, born in Erie, Ohio, May 11, 1830. She was married November 3, 1855, to Sarah Woodruff.

He has been in failing health for several months but the immediate cause of his death was heart trouble brought on by an attack of the grip.

Brief services will be held at the Pike home tomorrow and the remains will be taken to Carroll, Iowa, where other services will be held and interment will take place in the city cemetery.
