Theodore Rix Dies at Age of 84
Theodore Frederick Rix died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 1953, at the Pfoltner Nursing Home here, where he had lived for the last four months. Son of August and Gretchen (Wiese) Rix, he was born February 26, 1869. He was 84 years old February 28.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ohde Funeral Home. Pastor John M. Ansorge, of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Rix's wife, Louise (Kracht) Rix, died January 29, 1951.

He is survived by one son, Lloyd Rix, Manning; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Prior to 1914, Mr. Rix farmed for a while, worked in the Manning Creamery and was also employed by the Rober-Wehrmann Company here. In 1914, he moved to Springfield, Minnesota, where he was a road maintenance worker. Two years ago, he returned to Manning.

Until entering the nursing home, he lived in his own home here part of the time and with his son the rest of the time.

Rix died Tuesday at the Pfoltner Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for four months.

Born in Germany, he lived in Manning until 1914, when he moved to Springfield, Minnesota. While in Manning he farmed and was employed by the Manning Creamery and Rober-Wehrmann and Company. In Minnesota he was employed by the Highway Commission. He returned to Manning two years ago.

He is survived by one son, Lloyd Rix, Manning: four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
