Mr. McCrory was 62, born January 6, 1893, near Rippey son of William and Mary (Holmes) McCrory. He attended schools in Jefferson and Ames and graduated from high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and from Iowa State College in Civil Engineering in 1931.
He had been connected with the Iowa State Highway Commission since 1921. While he attended college he worked for the Commission, and from 1942 to 1946 he taught at Iowa State while on leave from the Commission.
He returned to the Ames laboratory of the Commission and in 1950 was appointed district materials engineer.
Mr. McCrory was raised in the Baptist faith, was a Veteran of World War I, a member of the Masons, a member of the Iowa Engineer Society, and a member of the American Legion.
He was married to Elaine Roggish August 5, 1945, at Manning. She survives along with two brothers, John J. Mason City, and W.A. Dawson; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Foushee, Lexington, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Adams Chapel, with the Rev. G.S. Nichols of First Methodist Church officiating. There will be a Masonic service at the chapel. Burial will be at Manning Cemetery.
