New Pumper
The town council has purchased a new pumper, guaranteed to throw 500 gallons of
water per minute. The inability of the fire department to make much impression
on the fire in Wernimont Elevator two weeks ago, because of low water pressure,
convinced the council the fire-fighting equipment was not sufficient to
properly protect the town.
