Mrs. Schroeder, a former resident of Manning, passed away last Tuesday morning at a hospital at Norfolk, Nebraska. She was 83 years of age.
The deceased was born January 15, 1854, in Germany. In early childhood she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and had been a member of the Lutheran church all of her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing, three children, John J. Schroeder of Manning; Charles Schroeder of Aspinwall and Mrs. John Ehrichs of Norfolk, Nebraska. A daughter, Mrs. Chris Ehrichs, died several years ago. Her husband, Henry Schroeder, passed away March 24, 1917, in Manning.
For 12 years she lived in Manning and since the death of her husband she had divided her time with her children. She returned to Manning frequently for visits, with her son, John Schroeder.
Mrs. Schroeder was in good health until about two weeks before her death.
Burial was in the Manning Cemetery with six grandsons, Arthur and Edward Kruse, Herbert Ehrichs, Henry Schroeder, Arthur Fuss, and Walter Barten, acting as pallbearers.
Charles Schroeder and Chris Ehrichs who went to Norfolk, Nebraska, last Monday, being called there by the serious illness of the former's mother, returned home Tuesday, Mrs. Schroeder having passed away Monday evening at about the time they reached Norfolk. They were accompanied back by Mr. and Mrs. John Ehrichs' son Herbert and daughter Alice. The Ehrichs family returned to their Norfolk home Sunday.
