WILLIAM PUCK
William, son of William and Margretha (Joens) Puck, was born January 21, 1894 in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. He attended the rural schools near his home. As a young man Bill worked as a hired farm hand, and later farmed with his brother, Pete.
On September 24, 1931 Bill was united in marriage with Velma Koepke. They lived on the farm until moving to Manning in 1951; Bill still helped with farm work for many years while he lived in town.
Bill had been in failing health and moved to the Manning Plaza three years ago. He died there on Friday evening, July 22, 1988 at the age of 94 years, 6 months, and 1 day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by the following brothers: Peter, George, Albert, Adolph, Harry, and Benhard; and by the following sisters: Alvina, Ella, Frieda, Laura, and Minnie.
Bill is survived by his wife, Velma, of Manning; by his sister, Maggie Puck, of Manning; by his brother, Edward Puck and his wife, Helen, of Manning; by his sister-in-law, Elsie Puck, of the Manilla Manor; by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
