WILLIAM HENRY REEVER
After being in failing health for some time, William H. Reever, of Glidden, died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 1955, at St. Anthony Hospital here, where he had been a patient two days.

The body is at the Huffman Funeral Home in Glidden. Completion of funeral arrangements awaits the arrival of Mr. Reever's son. Harold Reever, from Chicago Thursday evening. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Glidden, Iowa.

Mr. Reever, a former school superintendent, held a Master's Degree. He had been superintendent of schools at Greenfield, Manning, Glidden, Baldwin, Coon Rapids, Old Carrollton, Aurelia, and Laurens. He held superintendencies for 32 years.

He received his early education in a rural school near Glidden. He attended Iowa State Teachers, Cedar Falls, and the State University at Iowa City.

After leaving the teaching field, he entered the abstract business in Carroll, where he had offices for some 20 years. He lived in Glidden during that time, commuting each day.

He was the first president of the Glidden REA, serving in this capacity for 16 years after its organization in August, 1936. He had also been a member of the Glidden Town Council.

Mr. Reever, son of Ephriam and Lizzie (Storick) Reever, was born October 23, 1866, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. At an early age he moved to Panora with his parents.

He came to Carroll County in 1873 and had lived at his present home in Glidden since 1924.

He was married December 26, 1900, at Greenfield to Agnes Woods, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Reever, at home, the son, Harold Reever, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Alice Sharon, Dubuque; one grandson, Mark Reever, and two granddaughters, Pamela and Leslie Reever, Chicago.

Two brothers, Charles and Harry, and two sisters, Minnie and Pearl, are deceased.

Mr. Reever was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
