Looking for any little clue to piece together Manning's past...
I'm constantly finding pieces of the Manning puzzle and then trying to fit them into their proper places to make sense of them.
This feature goes into some early Manning business history and one of the most tragic family histories I've worked on.
Note the various collections I scanned over the decades that had pictures and information about this family that I'm sure very few Manningites have even heard of the name before.

I constantly watch E-bay for anything Manning connected that I don't have or provides information, no matter how trivial, about the past history of this area.

Most of the items are old picture postcards, which for the most part I either have other originals of that same postcard, or scans of them.
The only reason I would bid on one of them I already have is if there is information on the backside, then if the price is reasonable I may bid on it.
Most of the asking prices are way out of range - many to the point of being greedy, but that is their right to ask for whatever they see fit...but for the most part those postcards will just sit there for years.

Recently I purchased one postcard I already have multiple originals but the other one is unique so I bid on it...spent more than I generally do but if it is something unique then I will pay a little more for them.

Another reason I purchased them is because I was able to make connections to some of the names on back but haven't made exact connections yet.

But this is why I look for items like this, because someday they may help fill in more of the pieces of the Manning puzzle.
