William Baley former MHS 1974 went by Rebel in school.
He had two sisters, Dixie former MHS 1968 and Barbara former MHS 1976.

Standing Committees for Year Named at Tuesday's Special Meeting
From a list of more than 30 applicants for the position of superintendent of Manning Public Schools, the board of education at a special meeting Tuesday afternoon, signed William M. Baley, 33, of Shelby, to head the local system for the coming year.
Superintendent Baley is a native of Omaha, where he graduated from North high school. He attended University of Alabama for two years and received his bachelor of science degree from Minnesota State Teachers College at St. Cloud, Minnesota, and his master's degree in education from Omaha University.
He is a veteran of World War II, having served in the Marine Corps for three years in the Pacific Theatre.
His teaching experience has been at Walker, Minnesota; two years in Omaha and he is completing his third year as principal of the Shelby Schools. During his high school and college careers, he participated in three major sports: football, basketball and baseball.
As courtesy to Mr. Baley, the board of education at Shelby released him at this time so he could accept the Manning post and finish the school year here.
Mr. Baley is married and the father of a four-year-old daughter, Dixie. Mrs. Baley is teaching fifth grade at Shelby and will finish the year in that capacity.
Superintendent Baley comes to Manning on a one-year contract with a salary of $5,350. He will report for duty in Manning within a few days, according to President Francis J. McMahon.
Other business conducted by the board at Tuesday's session was naming standing committees for the 1954-55 school year, namely:
Finance: Francis J. McMahon, Elmer Mueller and Fay Donaghu.
Teachers: Rita Swander, McMahon and Merlin Struve.
Buildings and grounds: Donaghu, and Swander.
Purchasing: Mueller, Swander and Struve.
Transportation: Struve, Mueller and Donaghu.
The board also accepted the resignation of Lorraine (Mrs. Oliver) Himley, who was completing the year begun by Mrs. Beverly Watson.
