I've always said that the talent in Manning is endless and Virgil Rosonke was no exception.
As I would drive around town capturing things, I would often see Virgil riding on one of his "contraptions" he either made or purchased and modified.
So I would stop and visit with him to get the latest scoop on his new toy and then take some pictures.
Virgil also liked to show appreciation to people who helped him and did things for him.
Now this interview might sound a little odd at first when you listen to it but realize that Virgil loved to make wooden carvings and give them to people who helped him in some way...so early one morning I got a phone call and it was Virgil. He wanted me to take some pictures of his latest project and carvings.
Now realize this project was definitely heart-felt and Virgil wanted to show his appreciation to several medical officials who took care of him and I could see how thankful he was and fortunate he was to have lived as long as he had - even with some recent health issues he had.

Now some people have a very distinctive voice and laugh and if you ever visited with Virgil you know what I mean.
I'm so glad to have captured Virgil's voice and his typical chuckle he always had while visiting - something I'll never forget as long as I live.
Maybe I'm more aware and alert to the way people talk, walk, and present themselves since I've been taking pictures since 1965 and started video taping in 1977...because of the technical aspects of photography and videography, you tend to see and hear things that most people never notice.

So I hope people will appreciate the audio, video, pictures, and history of Virgil.

He was a Veteran and was very helpful and open about telling me about his service and digging out pictures for me to scan.
