June 7, 1981 Dear Monitor Staff,
Enclosed you will find a money order for another year of the Manning Monitor. I really enjoy getting the Monitor so that I can see a little bit about what's happening back home now that I am so far away from there.
I'm sorry to say that I won't be back for the centennial because of the distance involved plus my work aboard ship. I am on the Flagship for the Middle East force. We are stationed in the Persian Gulf and a small island called Bahrain. But I'm looking forward to receiving the Centennial issue to see how everything goes back there. Hope that everyone has a good time.
