William Opperman, US5546322, Spec.4, was inducted into the
Army at Omaha, Nebraska on February 3, 1954. He took 8 weeks
basic training at Fort Riley, Kansas, then 8 weeks training at Fort Bliss, Texas on 90 MM anti-aircraft artillery.
After basics he was transferred to the 10th AAA Battalion which was attached to the Air Force at Fairchild AFB near Spokane,
Washington, discharge was at Fort Lewis, Washington February 2, 1956 returning to farm near Manning.
March 2004, Hugo "Shorty" Dammann presented with WWII certificate, honoring him for his service.
