Corporal Frank Danner, son of Wolfgang Danner, is expected to return home this week as a dischargee.
Cpl. Danner, who has been in the service four years, was overseas approximately two years. He has been in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands.

FRANK DANNER
Mass of the Christian burial for Frank Danner, 79, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, at St. Bernard Church in Breda.

Mr. Danner died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 8, 1989, at his home in Breda.

Burial will be at the Manning Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Breda American Legion.

Celebrant at the Mass will be the Rev. Thomas Munn.

Lector for the Mass will be Kevin Danner. Gift bearers will be Estherline Blum and Charlotte Danner.

Casket bearers will be Verlin Danner, Harold Danner, Jerome Danner, Walter Wiederin, Daryl Tiefenthaler, and Larry Boeckman.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. today at Sharp Funeral Home in Breda. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 3 and 8 p.m. today, the latter by St. Bernard Parish.

Born October 17, 1909, in Dedham, Mr. Danner was a son of Wolfgang and Emma (Steffes) Danner. He grew up in the Dedham community where he attended Dedham and Willey Schools.

In June 1942, he entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II overseas in the South Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged from the military in December 1945.

He was employed as a farm worker in several communities and for the past 20 years had been employed by Cyril Tiefenthaler of Breda.

On October 10, 1964, he was married to Lorraine Barten at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll by the Rev. Richard S. Ries.

He was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Breda and the Fred F. and Norman J. Bruning American Legion Post 607 of Breda.

Mr. Danner is survived by one brother, George Danner, of Fort Dodge; one sister, Florence Danner, of Holden, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Viola Danner of Carroll and Charlotte Danner of Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine, in 1967; eight brothers, Peter, John, Joe, Henry, Fred, Clarence, and Matt Danner, and an infant brother; and two sisters, Mazy Hoffman Brafford and Catherine Danner.
