Donald H. Kruse, Sr.

Donald H. Kruse, Sr., 78, of 411 Mankato Ave., died Wednesday, August 16, 2000, at his, home.

Donald was born October 2, 1921, in Manning, Iowa, to Claude J. and Ruth A. (Holland) Kruse. He married Delores M. Paszkiewicz on May 14, 1947, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Winona.

Donald was employed at Swift & Company until they moved out of town and later worked for area contractors in construction. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Donald is survived by his wife, Delores of Winona; children, Diane Noeske of Winona, Donald (Maria) Kruse of Winona, and Donna (Steve Brown) Kruse of Winona; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Rhett) Zenke, Danielle Noeske, Amanda Noeske, Samara Daggit, Chase Daggit, Ashley Kruse, Lauren Kruse, and Abigail Kruse; one brother, Wallace (Mary Margaret) Kruse of Mesa, Arizona; and one son-in-law, James Daggit of Winona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis; one daughter, Deborah; and one brother, Roger.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Watkowski-Pronschinske Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel R. Dernek will officiate.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Neville-Lien Post No. 1287 will provide military honors following the service at the funeral home.
